Where it all began

The story of Sign Art Studio began when I landed a job at a local sign shop at 19. Despite the instability in my life, I was immediately captivated by sign-making and its potential for my future.

In May 2005, Sign Art Studio began in a modest 150-square-foot garage in Mount Horeb, WI. With just $1200 to my name, I focused on hand-lettering storefront signs. However, a project came along that reshaped our path. I designed and constructed a monument sign for a commercial development, leading us into architectural signage.

In 2007, we moved to a more spacious 1800-square-foot shop, aiming to preserve traditional methods while embracing modern design. We crafted iconic signs, such as the Orpheum sign, during this remarkable time.

From 2007 to 2014, we remained a small team of three. However, we decided to expand, developing scalable processes and procedures. In 2017, we relocated to our current 15,000-square-foot facility.

Today, our focus is on national expansion and providing the best products and client experience in our industry. With over 30 dedicated team members, we continue to craft kick ass signs and appreciate the journey we're on.

Looking back, I never imagined this would be possible when I started Sign Art Studio. Working alongside an incredible team and witnessing the creation of top notch signage fills me with gratitude every day.
